Ellyn: According to the Pew Research Center, I am a "Solid Liberal," which is a fair assessment. Much of my political socialization was formed through an early avid participation in internet culture. However, I primarily influence by the experience of growing Black in America. I've voted in local, state, and national elections since the year I turned 18 (2013). I also have two years of academic training as a journalist, and during that time, my primary focus was on state and local politics. I'm taking this class, because it is a requirement, but I'd like to learn more about the nuts and bolts of Texas state legislature and politics. On the General Texas Knowledge quiz, I scored 2/10. On the Texas Political Knowledge Quiz, I scored 4/10.
